Default Canon 20D Problem!!!

I have a canon 20D and cannot get sharp photographs. I use a tripod and still horrible results. I will try one more thing - the adapter. I just don't take pictures using a tripod all the time! I am getting really frustrated! Any comments or suggestions??
Thanks ,
msadventure

If you are using the default sharpness parameters of the 20D then this is "normal". What I meant here is the default sharpness for the 20D is rather low, it is meant to be tweak by post-processing. If you like a more punchier picture right out of the box, you can increase the default sharpness to +2.

It could also be a problem with the lens. If you can point us to some of your full resolution pictures so we can make a diagnosis?

Cheers,
Thien

you probably have it on manual focus and didnt know about it. If not, then it΄s probably the lens. Try changing lenses and see if you get similar results. Also check the CMOS sensor to make sure it is clean.

Can you send me a sample picture? I should be able to work out whether it's normal or not...

Thanks.
I'll do two things. I will try using another lens and check the one I've used for cleanliness. I will also check the sensor.
I do use Manual focus since I feel I have more control over the photo and learn the right technique on exposure, DOF, lighting etc..
Thanks..I'll fill you in on my results.

I want to send you a photo I tried today - that also resulted in unsharped photograph. Please send me an email at dee@photographybydee.com so I can send you the photo high resolution since it won't go onto this site (right?).
I will look to see how I can increase the default sharpness. Thanks tons.
