Great emka 2019-09-30 3:14

Hello Gert, Very interesting pictures from your first trip to England. I like this ancient view like of the first photos. and how strange that you have the photos of the same place as John. Interesting to compare them. Your picture has more charm :). The building of the Workshop is wonderful. when I was in England in 1977, I liked to go to the pubs :). I am very curious about what else you visited then.

Kind regards Malgo

Default To emka: second trip

Thank you Malgo,
This was my second trip to England, but the first on my own. In 1964 I stayed with friends of my mother's.
Did YOU go to pubs?! What did you do there?
Best regards,
Gert

Haha, I knew you would be interested . I was from behind the Iron Curtain. After lessons, I went often in the evening to pub to hear the language. And I found the atmosphere of the English pubs fantastic.

Cheers

The fantastic atmosphere was probably due to the influence of reasonable amounts of beer. You should have learned from those lessons too.
