Great holmertz 2018-12-04 3:06

Hello Elvira,
Only a few weeks ago Bev (Royaldevon) posted a photo and a workshop from the same place, but you chose to combine the seated old men with the magnificent painting. I like how the art and architecture gets a human touch this way. I am still puzzled by the transparent squares and rectangles placed here and there on the painting. They are seen on some photos on the internet, but not always. Did you notice what they were? They almost seem to be floating in the air. Very strange.
Kind regards,
Gert

Default To holmertz: white patches

Hello Gert,
yes of course I noticed that Beverley posted Photos of the same place, her photos were the reason I was reminded of my journey to Campania in 2015, (and tempted to show some more of my archives). I read your question about the white patches and browsed the internet to find something about it. Without success, but I found the website "Italian Ways" which I quoted in my note. I thought in 2015, it must have to do something with renovation, but so many time has passed and still Beverley has on her photo the same patches??? You made a remark that the patches seem to float in front of the painting, I think the reason is because the painting looks as if it has a third dimension, the patches have not.
If you have time in abundance, go back to Beverleys picture and read my answer to your critique. If you are short of time - no need to go back, nothing different in it........
Kind regards,
Elvira

Thank you Elvira. I'm afraid I had missed your earlier reply. Your explanation seems reasonable.
Regards,
Gert

Default white patches

..........and have a look at the pic of Valter Palone (bayno), taken in May 2012 : no white patches!
Your comment on Valters photo is very interesting (the part about workers unions in Sweden)!
Regards,
Elvira

I remembered the critique when I saw it, but I had absolutely no memory of seeing that wall earlier than mid-November.
