Great batalay 2011-05-21 16:09

Caro Paolo,

Spectacular shot, of the colorful old buildings and their shimmering reflections. I like very much the way you have framed the scene. Ferrara, was that not the hometown of the notorious Savonarola? There might be a statue of him in a prominent piazza. Have a rejuvenating Sunday, Paolo.

Warm regards,
Bulent

Thumbs up To batalay: Savonarola

Yes, dear Bulent, you're right. In Ferrara, hometown of Girolamo Savonarola there is a statue dedicated to him and a plaque on the house where he was born. In the Piazza della Signoria, to Florence, there is a plaque that commemorates the site of Savonarola's execution. In many Italian cities, there are statues of the monk. I remember our interesting WS comparison done to our dear friend Malgorzata to her photo of Savonarola in Ferrara.

Comacchio is a small fishing village at the mouth of the Po River, about 50 Km from Ferrara.
Ciao!
Paolo
