Question Missing Day

Website working normal now but seems that the last 10-12 hour stuff seems like lost (Uploads, workshops, critiques, etc.)
Is this data permanently lost or recovery process going on?
Best regards,
Engin.

Question Feb. 9th: Today's Outage

Is it only me who sees that all (or almost all - it depends...) today's posts - critiques, Forum messages (especially about the latest problems with TE) - have disappeared?
where are they? Will they be back? What's happened?

one of the examples is here:
http://www.trekearth.com/forums/show...46#post1203746
There were at least 3 (!) posts after mine... where are they?

There was a thread "Critiques error" ( http://www.trekearth.com/forums/showthread.php?t=876258 )... where is it now?

Default Today's outage

Hello

There has been a database event, and it is being rebuilt.

As to whether the posts made today can and will be recovered, right now we have to wait and see. But as you can see now, the site is back online and historical data is all viewable.

I'll keep you posted as there is further news from the technical department.

Thank you for your patience today during this long outage, everyone!

Paul

Thanks, Paul... Yes, the site is working now.

but I wonder how many more times and how often will such "events" happen again and again...
This is incredible!

Sorry about that Fanni -- I know it's frustrating to lose a bit of data, but it could have been worse.

We're under constant attack from outside sources, and cleaning up after last week's episode has caused a database error that we needed to back-up from, and the backup was from early today; thus the data from then to now has been lost.

It's an unfortunate fact of life: attack/defend, and sometimes the hits hurt.

Yes, Paul, it is frustrating - but just because the members' efforts and emotions have got sort of "lost"...
I was at work all day and did not come to TE until late evening... but I am concerned about other members' work.

But what I am most of all concerned about is the proper and stable work of the site on the whole!
but, judging by your words, it appears that the attacks are continuing... I wonder why? is it possible to track down the source of these attacks?

Hi Paul, I would like to concentrate ALL the requests/complaints one ONE single thread. I suggest to use this one from now on...

For the members: Please write here about the site outage from February 9th, other posts opened elsewhere about this same problem will be closed or merged on this thread.
