Great tyro 2015-06-14 23:48

Bonjour Jean Jacques,

How nice to see a close-up of the man who drives the "train"!

I've been looking at your last picture again and I think I recognise this as the man with his back to us and holding the long pole or "rudder" to steer the train of wood. But, now that I look at your last photograph once more, I think I see something else - is that an outboard motor I see between the three men? It seems to have "6.0KW" written on it so I presume that these modern "train drivers" have an added advantage compared to what their ancestors would have had!

This is a lovely portrait, very well taken in good light and with excellent details and sharpness and I like how the background of the old water level gauge is so appropriate to this event.

Kind Regards,
