Great quillo 2008-01-31 13:43

Hello Florian, whenever I rise to a mountain although it is small, the effort transforms in happiness for the satisfaction of having come up to the top and this photo reminds that to me. And although it is an image that for the day rainy and clouded he lacks light and contrast it has the delight and interest of the good memories.

A greeting and thank you.

Thanks for your critique, it is greatly appreciated.

I can see also that the ice is a little grey on my monitor. This section of the glacier was in the lower limits where the ice is least clean and being close to the edge of the mountain is often littered with dust and debris from the mountains to the side. The more pure white/blue ice was a little higher up from here and is generally reached by helicopter. This being said, I am sure I could have brightened it a bit more to make it look more like ice than rock.

Also, I think that if I were to increase the white on the whole, the sky would become too stark. I would have to select the ice separately to alter it, which for me is altering it too far from the original.

Thanks again for your critique; I will take those ideas onboard with my future photos.
