Default DxO Mark - new way to compare camera quality

DxO Labs, the same company that makes DxO raw converted today introduced image quality comparison website.
Unlike many camera review sites they approached this task in purely scientific way. Some results are quite unexpected. New camera models may have even worse image quality than their predecessors. Check it out before rushing to upgrade your camera to the "latest and greatest".

It's very interesting, but unfortunately I don't think it's 100% useful.

As far as I can tell they don't seem to have any measure of how much detail the sensor/system is capable of rendering; i.e. the effective per pixel sharpness.

SNR and FullColorSensitivity are heading in that direction, but I don't think they quite cover it, and none of the other measurements seem to either.

At the end of the day I'm pretty certain someone could create a sensor that would get perfect scores in *all* those tests, but produce completely terrible images anyway.
