Great emka 2018-02-13 11:23

Hello Gyorgy, No problem to find it in Google :). It is the Gąsienica Chapel. Gąsienica is the family in Tatras, after them is called one of the meadow near Kasprowy - Hala Gąsienicowa.

The Gąsienica Chapel is the oldest sacral building in Zakopane. Located between the Old Church and the Old Cemetery, built thanks to Paweł Gąsienica's efforts around 1800. A small brick chapel, covered with a shingled roof, topped with a turret, rises at ul. Koscieliska. Before the old church was built, holy masses were celebrated in this tiny shrine. In his last will from 1813 Paweł Gąsienica ordered that his and his wife Regina should be buried before entering the chapel. After the Second World War, the interior of the chapel was changed according to the design of Antoni Kenar. Hence the figurines of saints together with the symbols of the four Evangelists are the main decorative elements of the chapel. The entrance to the chapel was secured with an iron lattice and now it can only be visited from the outside. Securing this type was a must, because before the Second World War the highlanders from behind Gubałσwka, bringing goods to Zakopane, left their bundles there.

Charming picture.
