You need to convert your file to JPEG. Any image editing software should be able to do that.

Usually it works this way with most of the image editing software:

- Open the file.
- Do whatever you need to do to correct the picture (scanned picture always loose in colour, contrast and sharpness depending on the quality of the scan)
- Save the file using the "save as" function. In the "save as" there must be a dropdown list where you can choose the format.

Also, you need to remember that to upload a picture on TE, the picture max length is 800 pixels and the max size is 200 Ko. Longer length or bigger size will not be accepted by TE.

All right, I got it with changing the file to JPEG as you said. Now I have to work on shrinking the file. I will have my Photoshop software soon to work this problem : )
Thank you green

Well, when you get your photoshop to work, you'll find another funtion that's call "save for the web" that will allow you set parameters to save the file following TE requirement. Check the helpfile.

If you are going to use Photoshop (or PS Elements) you will probably be better off using Image->Resize, setting the long dimension to 800 (750 if 'tall') and then choosing a compression level that gets you in under the 200k limit. Make sure you don't overwrite your original (and/or edited) copy. Save your new file with a new name.

If you use "Save for Web" the EXIF data will be stripped from the file and things such as date, aperture, and shutter speed won't be automatically transferred to TE.

Or you might down a copy of Irfanview...........................

Reducing photo files for the web or email.

If you use a PC, I highly suggest you download a free copy of Irfanview

www/irfanview.com (If you like it, register and send Irfan $10US.)

Under 'File'
'Batch Conversion/Rename'
'Advanced Options'
'Preserve aspect ratio' (if you desire, and you probably do)
'Use resample' (better quality output)
Set either pixel or percentage size (*)
'OK'

Add photos
'Copy input files to output directory' (**)
‘Start’

 A 640 pixels wide file usually fills up an email, 100 makes a decent ‘thumbnail’ – experiment to find your ideal size. If you post smaller sizes to pBase, etc. you don’t have to worry about people ‘stealing’ your photos and making great big prints for sale.

** I often create a sub-folder named something such as ‘xxx/800 wide’ inside the original ‘xxx’ folder.

Please pardon the ‘cut & paste’. I get tired of typing the same old ‘same old’….
