Hello Malgo,
Also from this angle this looks like Stalin would have enjoyed it. Didn't you have any similar photos from Moscow, Warsaw or Bucharest to add as WS, just for the comparison? ;-) I think there are some buildings in Madrid that are also rather similar. I may have something from Riga. It must have been a popular style.

Hi Gert, Thanks for your critique.
Of course, I have photos from Moscow and Warsaw for comparison.. I am not sure for Riga, in Bucharest I was in 1958, I have no photos, haha. But these inspirations go farther. Similar buildings in the USA were inspired by Giralda in Seville, which itself was based on the Koutoubia Minaret in Morrocco.
