To IaKoop: Orchard

I thought a lot about your're right, the lighting works against the composition. I think this is because I had to take the shot in the middle of the day (because that was when I was...

To danielswalsh: Thanks for the feedback

And "cantorboi" just refers to the fact that I sing and lead music at my Catholic Church--so I'm referred to as a "cantor." When I got my e-mail address, cantorboY was taken (unbelievably) so I went...

To Tweety: Swan

Thank you for your compliments. This photos was not taken at Minnewater (Lake of Love), but on a small canal. I believe I took this on Rozenhoedkaai just NW of the Wollestraat. The same spot as...

To Albrecht: Thanks for the workshop

Hi Albrecht, thank you for your work on this shot. I liked the increased sharpness and contrast, though perhaps the darker areas got too dark? I still have a lot to learn about editing and shooting...

To fadingstar78: Mt Hood photo

Hi, thanks for the feedback on this shot. I took it from an airliner window. We were landing at just the right time of day and on the right path. It was so beautiful I was having a hard time...

To AndyGr1er: Mt Hood photo

Hi Andy, I took this from an airliner descending to land at Portland International Airport. On days when they land west-bound, they pass just north of Mt Hood during the descent, so you can get...

To miguel: Oregon Coast

I grew up here, so I am not objective, but I do think that the Oregon Coast is wonderful. Many miles of beaches with no footprints, and the State does not allow "private" beaches, so you can go...

To Rinie_Hoff: Polarizer

I did not use a polarizer. The exposure came out really well due to great weather and the angle I happened to take the shot at. I haven't had good results with my polarizing filter on my...

To dgarr: Wyoming fence

I can't believe I didn't think of Matthew Shepherd when I shot this. I'm ashamed to think that the memory of that horrible crime has receded so far in my memory. Thank you (really) for reminding...

To Elise_d: Post-processing

This was taken as a Nikon 'RAW' (NEF) file, then sharpened in Nikon's proprietary editor. I converted it to a TIFF format for saving. So, no post-processing other than sharpening.

To Zbys: Blueland photo

Where is the line between land & sky? I loved the ambiguity of the shot, it's not easy to see where one ends and the other begins. Thanks for noticing that.

To dgarr: Thanks

Hi David,

Thanks for your feedback on this photo. I like to have my photos a little on the dark side to avoid any blown-out areas and also to get better saturation in the colors. I am getting...

Thanks for your feedback on this and several of my other photos. I had hoped, of course, that this picture of Greenland would "leave you cold" in some way! :-)

I've found that aerial...

To tuffellow: Post-processing

Hello Mike,
Thanks for your feebdback. The only thing I did to the photo (other than sharpening) was to adjust the white balance a bit toward the cooler end. The original exposure was artifically...
