To macjake: Thanks Craig

Appreciate the comments.

If I lived there I certainly would try some sunset shots. We were visiting the area and took a 12 mile bike ride along the river to find the waterfall. It was great!...

Watch Lake is in the BC Interior, near 100 mile house. The lake sits at about 4,000 ft. So it can be really cool in the mornings . . .

Take care!

Just left for a bit and then come to this . . .

A real fancy new TrekEarth. Too bad.

Not to minimize the efforts of the people that "revamped" the look.

But TrekEarth was one of the few places I could go to that had a real nice "KISS"...

Re: Where do you post your other photo albums?

Hi Dan,

Any cons I have with SmugMug are offset by the image quality of my pictures. Large or small displays are very sharp and clear. However, I don't find the gallery themes very appealing. They...

Where do you post your other photo albums?

Hi all,

Just curious about where some of you may be posting your other photos.

Aside from posting a few images on TE, I also have created galleries at SmugMug and Zenfolio. I've not decided...

To stevesaba: Nice Steve

Hey Steve,

That is a great shot you have there. Super color and composition!

This time of year we get quite the variety of clouds. Never boring to watch or photograph :-)

Thanks for your...

I use ACDsee Pro and applied the adjustments as per your information. The image looks great. Appreciate the time and details :-)

Thanks

Thanks roljoy,

While I like the sunnier look, I find it over sharpened.

By the way, what did you use for the change?

Re: Proper Etiquette responding to casual comments.

". . . If you do that systematically, you will manage very fast to get into a "back tapping PointPal group" and assure a lot of points for yourself, even though your gallery might stink. That's the...

Re: To danielswalsh: Thanks

Hi Dan,

Okay, I've posted it with the description as "original shot". Thanks, that worked.

White Spot is one of my favorite places to go. Nothing beats the Tripl-o sauce! Sorry Dan, never ran...

Re: To danielswalsh: Thanks

Thanks Dan,

I think I see the problem here. I did try earlier what you suggested. But the limitations on posting to the Workshop is 200 kilobyte max. And also, with an attempt to upload an image,...

Hi Dan,

Littlest Hobo, for sure . . .

I've never posted an image for workshop availability. Although I enabled that when posting this image.

So, going to the Workshop I tried uploading the...

Proper Etiquette responding to casual comments.

I'm curious.

When someone has taken the time to post a comment to your image, what is the proper etiquette for response. In general I mean.

While certain comments and critique warrant an...

I appreciate your comments Steve :-) Thanks.

As for the seagulls, I agree. I waited quite some time for them to walk into the scene. But they must have known I was waiting because they took their...

Ah yes, when it's sunny, it's very nice there and gives some great photo ops. I myself like the impact of a mix of sun and cloud, especially when the sky is stormy.

Thanks for you comments Steve...

As I get better hiking gear for dealing with the cold, I hope to get even more interesting shots next winter. Thanks for the comments :-)

To pauloog: Hope for better weather . . .

Thanks for your comment Paul!

It certainly was a hope for better weather. We didn't see the sun very often and sunsets like this were rare during our stay. Glad we caught it when we did :-)

To danielswalsh: Mist on the lake . . .

Hi Dan,

Thanks for your comment on this image :-)

The mist is a result of the snow be melted by the sun's radiated heat. It only happens briefly, usually for an hour or so in the late...

It was one of those moments where I had to keep my fingers crossed. The sun was setting so nicely and to my left a parade of seagulls slowly made their way into view. Of course, they weren't in any...

Very sad. My thoughts and prayers to his family and those that loved him, and knew him as a friend . . . .

. . . . life is too short, isn't it . . .

Some ratings have little to do with the photo . . .

I may get slammed for this but it is just a personal observation.

I have seen many images here that I would not consider exceptional yet they have many ratings. And again I will see images with...

My lesson was intended for those who do not have Photoshop and or do not know how to use it.

Not certain what you mean by the "most right way". Is there something that this type of program misses...
