Re: To jtb1965: Hi Jamie

Hi Pascal,

If you use Photoshop just use the magic selection wand to select just the sky and with the selection active any filters you run are only run on the selection.

Don't agree with the crop

Hi Marek.

I like the filter but I think your crop is too tight in the foreground.

Jamie.

Hi,

I think in your workshop you need to explain "how" you increased the contrast otherwise the OP can't learn.

Also, by increasing the contrast you introduced a lot of noise, I recommend also...

Overdone the Noise Reduction

Hi Adam,

I think you over did the noise reduction and have added a slight magenta cast into the image.
What I have been doing which seems to work for me, is to mask the areas you want to reduce...

Hi Talia,

Just to rub it in a bit more, the water around those islands is between 28 and 30 degrees C! We just laid around in it all day!

To burzum: Thanks for your rating

Hi Kostas,

Thanks for your rating, a one point smiley face is all I think it is worth too; a two point smiley face is pushing it for this image.

Cheers
Jamie.

To Emiel_Skyfreak: What does diafragm mean?

Hi Emiel,

Thanks for the feedback; I find because of the amount of colour correction done that if I sharpen the image that it takes away the softness of the coral and makes the image appear very...

Re: notes marked as useful

I mark notes as useful if it describes the image and adds to the image; it needs to add to the image.

I have noted that some also only rate images with a +2 dark green smiley face and it seems out...

To linask: Nikon 10.5 DX Fisheye and Polarizing Filter

Hi Linas -

No polarizing filter used; the lens does this by itself. I use some software called Hemi Fisheye http://www.imagetrendsinc.com/products/index.asp. This does the fisheye...

To cherryripe: Thanks for the Tip

Hi Nikki,

I always sharpen when I am working full size. It hasn't occurred to me to sharpen after I resize.

Thanks for taking the time to prepare a workshop for me.

Cheers Jamie.

Hey Dennis -

Very helpful thanks for the comment.

To BobbyBigBananas: Thanks for the Workshop

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the workshop. Not sure the B&W does it for me but I take your point about the large black border; I prefer a boarder frame the picture but maybe a smaller boarder would have...

To sedaeristurk: Thanks for the Feedback

Hi Seda,

Thanks for the feedback; the reason it is so dark around the edges is I used a fisheye lens so I captured the sunset and the night sky. I liked the unusual shape the sunset produced with...
