    Hello Serge,
Gargoyles apart, this photo shows the fabulous cathedral from what I imagine is an unusual angel. It underscores the height of the building and makes us imagine what a great impression it makes to those walking in the surrounding streets. The tower seems to reach very close to the sky.

    Hello Pierre,
Very nice view of the impressive ruins behind the large open area. There is a good balance between the light blue sky and the dark green ground. The many persons provide an attractive human presence which enlivens the view.

    Hello Gyrgy,
Sorry, I almost missed this nice photo. This is a case where kitsch doesn't matter. It's bright and colourful, well composed with a strong human presence and perfectly exposed. I have never seen such balloons here, but I was probably not looking carefully enough.
    Best wishes,

    Hello Silvio,
The big road seems to be slightly too close to the medieval village, but it provides a few nice curves to the photo. The village as such is beautiful and very picturesque and the well composed photo is very nicely tightly cropped.

    Hello Bev,
This was a very smart and attractive composition. You made the boring fashion store look so nice with all these bright Christmas decorations. And not only that. From this angle the many diagonal lines give the view a fine rhythm and elegance. And downstairs I think I see a nice piece of checkered trompe l'oeil painting. I am not a fan of any kinds of shops or department stores, but this looks very nice (from the safe distance of a monitor).

    Hello Rob,
I had the good fortune to find a hotel in a former private housing complex in a Beijing hutong in 1986, while there were still enough such places left to be a normal part of the city. But I can't recall seeing anything like this. But what a fantastic idea for an installation. Regardless of any deeper thoughts about the project it just looks like great fun. There are so many shapes, colours and reflections to watch from the different sides, and looking at those men in photo #2 it was obviously fun to be inside too. You have made another fascinating contribution to TE.

    Hello Miguel,
It's a wonderfully sharp photo with fine colours and an interesting view. The surrounding scenery is stunningly beautiful, but I get a feeling of a rather wet and cold day. Maybe that is what the domestic tourists from the hot plains of Uttar Pradesh are looking for.

    Hello Jorge,
It's a surprise that it could take 100 years to build a monastery these days, considering the techniques available today. Maybe they were careful to do it the way it was done in the middle ages. The result looks good. Fantastic patterns and colours shown in a very sharp photo with well handled light.

    Hello Krzysztof,
This time there is no doubt that this is an abandoned building. The last owner must have left it many years ago. Still it has a certain beauty thanks to the bricks and the stones of the wall that have created a fantastic pattern. The warm light contributes a lot.

    Hello Chris,
I have only seen these lions in tourist brochures. Sadly there is too much to see in Turkey for one person to cover everything. This rock wall is incredibly beautiful and another witness to the versatility of some very early cultures. You captured this with very good colours and sharpness.

Another well timed photo, after Piotr's. It's also a nice photo with fine colours and lots of interesting focal-points, including the silhouettes of people in the left corner. If you don't have much to do during the next few weeks you could try to read something by Olga Tokarczuk. ;-)

    Hello Luciano,
The impact of the blue hour is greatly enhanced by the dark clouds, which create a dramatic effect with the contrast of the illuminated temple. It's a beautiful building at any time but under these conditions it's almost magical. The WS could just as well have been the main upload. They are equally good and both of them are perfectly exposed.

    Hello Piotr,
You timed this photo well. You were just a few hours late after Ms Tokarczuk received the award, but just in time to capture these tourists outside the museum. It's as usual a well cropped and neat photo. I was happy that Olga Tokarczuk was awarded the Nobel Prize. I "discovered" her a couple of years ago and have read and enjoyed the seven books that have been translated to Swedish. She is a very good writer.

    Hej Lars,
Snyggt.
    Hlsningar,
