    Hello Nicolas,

As always you are very alert to the weather and its changing conditions.
The ice and snow have created a lovely abstract pattern, which you have captured with consummate artistry.

    Hello Mariusz,

Well, I'm glad you make us think and ask questions!
I do think that certain newspapers are a little less biased, The Independent, The Guardian, but can we honestly give an unbiased opinion? We all have our own views which colour our reporting!

Anyway, this is a very alien setting that you have presented. If we had done no travelling or had no experiences of other countries ourselves, you would be able to tell us that the rest of earth looked like this! Would we be able to argue for or against! Education should be the answer ... should be!

The Canaries are very volcanic in origin and what an amazing effect this has had, red rocks, black rocks and here, not a lot of vegetation. Your photograph paints a very strong picture.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

Ha! Ha! Ryszard, it's great to capture other photographers at work, especially when they are totally unaware of your presence. These photographers (mothers) capturing their children in this pretty setting, adds a real storyline to the situation. I'm sure your photograph is more interesting than theirs!
Nice details of the surroundings and of the light/shadow contrasts.

    Hello Ian,

Travelling across the floor here, will be like walking on board ship in a huge swell!
The result of the melting of the permafrost has had a real impact!
The unevenness is clearly visible and there are places where outer coverings are missing!!
It is surprising that the glass hasn't cracked. (Maybe it has and has been replaced!)
It is a very informative photograph, lovely sharp details and has awakened me to more of the frightening outcomes of global warming!

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Ike,

WE didn't get to Verona but I wish we had, to see this wonderfully intact amphitheatre.
Isn't it remarkable that it has survived for so many centuries without being robbed of its stones or removed for a more modern building!
You have supplied some excellent details with this and the w/s photographs.
How interesting it must have been to see these actors promoting the opera in such a historic setting.
    Lovely!

    Hello Benny,

This is a fine view up the canal; the open f/g seems to draw us in like a funnel
The trees are well positioned, acting to separate the boat and the red topped post, opposing each other.
It's a lovely day, greens and blues predominating in this bucolic scene.

    Witaj Krzysztof ,

Rather than individual focal points, you have captured a mood, a mood which is calm and bucolic
The gently dappled f/g sets the mood to the beautiful pool, surrounded by tall, slender trees and revealing mirror-like reflections.
This is a place to come and reflect, or write poetry!

    Hello Jorge,

You travelled on the bullet train, which seems significant for the focal building in your photograph resembles a bullet!
It is on a huge scale like much of the architecture in this area.
You have made a fine composition with bridge and figure in the f/g, creating a good sense of depth to the buildings.

    My warm regards,

    Hello Gerrit,

After travelling so far, in such overpowering heat, I am surprised that you had the energy or the concentration to take such a fine photograph.
The composition is delightful, the long branches of the tree creating a natural awning over the rustic shop!
Everything seems to be in the right place!
We certainly gain an impression of the weather conditions as everyone shelters from the sunshine!

This looks like a delightful place.
The boats, with their colourful lanterns, and associated reflections, create a very fun, welcoming f/g.

    Hola,

    Angel,

This is a lovely setting with features that we would love to include, like moored boats, reflections and an imposing castle!
The moored boats set a calm atmosphere, especially as they are combined with the shimmering, warm reflections of the buildings.
The castle is strongly placed off-centre and appears to be watching over the area, like a sentry.

    My warm regards,

    Ciao Caro Luciano,

Sometimes, it is really difficult to decide which photograph to post as the main one.
I love the sharpness and wonderful composition of the building, but I understand that people who are more interested in animated scenes would prefer this one. To be honest, they are all excellent shots and together, give a rounded view of the mosque and the people preparing for prayer.

    My warm regards,

This is a remarkable, miniature construction.
From the thumbnail, it is easy to mistake this for the original.
You have used a fine angle for natural movement across the frame, to appreciate the whole building and its fine reflection.
    The exposure is excellent.

Not the colours we generally associate with autumn but wow, this is a beautiful, understated photograph.

A view of the place that you posted yesterday but, with a change of position, you have given a different interpretation.

    Hello John,

The day may have been grey, where were walking with heads down but Bruges still looks amazing!
There is a real contrast between the more traditional stone buildings, in the f/g, and the bright, redbrick facade behind.
There is a lovely link between the colours of the redbrick and the autumn colours on the opposing tree.

    Hello MarieLouise,

I have learned something today, for I hadn't realised the importance of Vittorio Emmanuele eIther, though I have several photographs similar to yours, from Rome. The photographs from the different cities are all so very different in the way they portray this important man.

You have captured the frontage of the building well, and shown how it has a gentle curve which incorporates the garden area and the statue. The details show that some of the arched windows appear to have orange eyebrows!

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)
